He was born in Liverpool in 1888, but his family moved to Hull . Married to a lady called Annie and was known in the family as Dick.
He had always loved the North Yorkshire coast and in 1951 he bought 'Fenay Cottage' in the lower part of Robin Hood's Bay, naimng the property 'Bell House', during the time he lived there until 1960. he was most probably living there whilst he was a Member of The Fylingdales Group of Artists.
The two painting (below) were gifts to Margartet Mundy's parents ( father being a nephew)
