Fraser Hector
Born 13th May 1919 Died April 13th 2013
Art has been my 'other interest' after agriculture. Apart from a period in the 1950's when photography dominated, I have always painted, sought out good artist tutors and learned from them. A Foundation Course and an 'A' level in Art along with sculpting have broadened my knowledge. I have taught painting in Further Education, demonstrated to many art societies and been honoured to judge and appraise their work at exhibitions and meetings. My work is in pastels, acrylics, gouache and oils and I have had five one-man exhibitions, two combined exhibitions and show widely at open exhibitions including the Pastel Society at the Mall Gallery in London where in 2006 I received the Frank Herring award and have pictures in municipal ownership and in private collections throughout the World. President of Driffield Art Club, and a member of Hornsea Art Society. ( Taken from The Fylingdales Group of Artists 2012 Catalogue
